Tom Peoples, 55, of Moulton passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019. Visitation will be from 5 till 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2019 at the funeral home with Marcus Lipscomb and Brian Oliver officiating. Burial will be in Owens Chapel Cemetery.
Born on February 6, 1964 to the late Dick and Lois Peoples, Tom worked at Superior Scaffolding and Insulation in Decatur. He enjoyed spending time at the race track and with his family.
Survivors include his brothers, Christopher Ray Peoples (Valerie) and Bob Cornelius Peoples (Diane); sister Nellie Campbell (Randy); and several nieces and nephews. Tom also had a special place in his heart for Nikkol Coffey (Jeffrey) and their son, Rhett.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Daniel “Toejoe” Peoples.
Pallbearers will be Casey Campbell, Lucas Campbell, Justin Campbell, Waylon Peoples, Tommy McLemore, Leldon Lacey, Kareem “Bosco” Gholston, and Will McCulloch. Michael King will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
The family extends special thanks to the doctors and staff at UAB and Encompass Hospice for their wonderful care and support. And especially to Michael King, who was more like a brother than a friend, for all of his help in caring for Tom.
