Betty Lee Morris, 82, of Moulton passed away Monday, April 17, 2023 at NHC of Moulton. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Marcus Lipscomb officiating. Burial will be at Moulton Memory Gardens.
Born on February 18, 1941 to the late Herman and Nora King Heaps, Betty was a graduate of Mount Hope High School and a member of New Freedom Church. She was very proud of her 42 years of service as a bus driver for Lawrence County Schools.
Survivors include her children, Sherry Sutton, and Greg Morris; grandchildren, Bethany Sutton, Ryan (Miranda) Sutton, Zac (McKinley) Morris; great-grandchildren, Raelynn Sutton, Braxton Sutton, and Jaxson Morris; sisters, Sue Spruell, Faye (Hudson) Parker, Dean Wright, and Jean Rutherford; brothers-in-law, Aaron (Donna) Morris, and Curtis Hood; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Burl Morris; parents; sisters, Mary Lou (Lewis) Lang, and May Hood; brothers, Leo (Nettie Sue) Heaps, Olen (Jean) Heaps; brothers-in-law, Hershel Spruell, Norman Wright, Wayne Rutherford, Lyndon (Faye) Morris, Guin (Shirley) Morris, and Bobby Morris; mother-in-law, Zenobia Morris; father-in-law, Clifford Morris; and her special friend, Marvin Tidwell.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Sutton, Zac Morris, Joe Borden, Roger Borden, Jimmy Heaps, and Kade Stephenson.
The family extends special thanks to CCI, Alliance Cancer Care, UAB, Decatur Morgan CCU, and especially the NHC staff for their care. A special thank you is also given to all the family and friends who prayed, visited, brought food or any other act shown to Betty and her family.
