Billy Gillespie

Billy Gillespie, 79, of Danville passed away Sunday, September 13, 2020 at his home. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Union Hill Cemetery with Bro. Mike McCullough and Bro. Francis Proctor officiating.

The owner of Gillespie’s Shavings, Billy enjoyed building birdhouses.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Barbara Gillespie; son, Kenny Gillespie (Shelia); daughter, Pamela Bowling (Mark); four grandsons, Justin (Brittney), Jason (Kayla), Tyler (Brittney), and Adam (Jessica); one granddaughter, Marcie; seven great-grandchildren; brother OZ Gillespie (Lois); and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Billy’s grandsons and nephews.

The family extends special thanks to the nurses and staff of Hospice of the Valley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
