Billy Hamilton, 89, of Moulton, Alabama passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Milwee officiating. Burial will be at Moulton Memory Gardens.
Born on May 14, 1936, to David and Pearl Steele Hamilton. Billy was a former deacon at Mount View Baptist Church, a youth Sunday school teacher, and an active member for over 50 years. He enjoyed restoring antique cars and bicycles. In his younger years Billy was a volunteer fire-fighter, and a vital asset at Western Auto for 18 years. Billy opened his own automotive bodyshop Hamilton's Used Cars and Parts, and became involved in Real- Estate. He also served on the Board of Directors at the Bank of Moulton. We will miss Billy deeply, but we're happy he is reunited with the love of his life of 69 years, Inez, and his Lord and Savior.
Survivors include his son, Brad (Mayme) Hamilton; grandson, Logan Tyde Hamilton; grandkids in love, Joey Rutherford and Julie Rutherford; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Billy was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Hamilton; parents, David and Pearl Hamilton; three brothers, Theo Hamilton, Wyman Hamilton, and Bobby Hamilton; and two sisters, FanLee Wright and Carolyn McWhorter.
Pallbearers will be Logan Tyde Hamilton, Lyndon McWhorter, Danny Hamilton, Don Hamilton, Mike Praytor, Rockie Compton, Billy Dutton, Harce Hill, Charlie Hulsey, and Johnny Leggett.
Honorary Pallbearers are the Deacons at Mount View Baptist Church.
The family extends special thanks to Aveanna Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mount View Baptist Church Bulding Fund, Gideons International, or Aveanna Hospice in Billy's memory.
