Brenda Stephenson Coan

Brenda Stephenson Coan, 76, of Moulton, Alabama passed away Monday, March 4, 2024, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 09, 2024, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Andy Coffey and Rev. Wannell Scott officiating. Burial will be at Hickory Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery.

Born on December 31, 1947, to Arthur and Lillie Mae Mitchell Stephenson, Brenda was a life-long member of Hickory Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She graduated in 1966 from Mt. Hope School, and spent her life as a loving mother, grandmother, caregiver, and prayer warrior for all who knew her.

Survivors include her son, Brandon Coan (Shanna); grandchildren, Chase Coan, Kennedy Coan (Andrew), and Carter Coan; three brothers, Freddie Stephenson (Vivian), Bobby Stephenson, and A. M. Stephenson (Marcy); and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Brenda was preceded in death by her spouse, Richard "R.J." Coan of 39 years; parents, Arthur and Lillie Mae Stephenson; one sister, Lucy Mae Houston; and one brother, James Stephenson.

Pallbearers will be Chase Coan, Carter Coan, Keith Stephenson, Todd Stephenson, Chad Appleton, and Andrew Wiley.

Honorary Pallbearers are Terry Stephenson, Lee Stephenson, Kevin Rivers, Shane Letson, and Tim Sanders.

The family extends special thanks to the nurses and staff at Decatur Morgan Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gideons or the Hickory Grove Cemetery Fund.
