Brenda Faye Carroll Terry

Brenda Faye Carroll Terry, 79, of Moulton, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2026 at UAB Hospital following emergency surgery. Her graveside service will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Moulton Memory Gardens with Hon. Greg Dutton, and Bro. Redmond Talley officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Born on March 7, 1946 to the late William Lennis and Carrie Richardson Carroll, Brenda graduated from Lawrence County High School in 1964 then furthered her education at Florence State (now UNA). She earned her Master's in Education then went on to get her EDS degree. For nearly 40 years, Brenda taught at several Lawrence County Schools and retired while serving as the Assistant Superintendent. A charter member of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church of Moulton, Brenda was a faithful member of the choir. She enjoyed shopping and going to Gospel Singings, but her favorite thing to do was spend time with and help her family.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, James Larry Terry; brother, Douglas (Barbara) Carroll; brother-in-law, Rudy (Reda) Terry; sister-in-law, Judy (Jackie) Looney; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Alvis Carroll, Windham Carroll, and Lennis Wayne Carroll; and sister, Betty Jo Stricklin.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Carroll, Lynn Carroll, Kent Gilley, Scott Jones, Steve Jones, Joshua Looney, Jimmy Stricklin, and Cody Terry.

The family extends special thanks to the nurses and staff at the UAB Cardiovascular Unit, especially, Dr. James Davies and Nurse Practitioner, Katrina Smith.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or a favorite charity.
