Charles R. “Jackie” Smith, 77, of Moulton passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. Visitation will be from to 1 till 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with O.D. Bowling and Calvin Jones officiating. Burial will be in Jones Chapel Cemetery.
Born on April 15, 1940 in Moulton, Jackie loved to fish and was retired from 3M.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Jane Smith; children, Debbie Sutton, Judy Owens (Anthony), Angie Hill (Bryan), and Scott Smith; four grandchildren, Justin, Taylor, Gabriel, and April; seven great-grandchildren; and his lifelong buddy, Gwen Terry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Nina Mae Moats Smith; brother, Spencer Smith; and son-in-law, Kyle Sutton.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Hill, Anthony Owens, Justin Owens, Greg Randolph, Marion Smith, Gwen Terry, Danny Blankenship and Tony Scott. Honorary pallbearers are Roger Weeks, Sammy Moats, Gabriel Sutton, Franklin Terry, and Flynn Owen.
