Connie Blackwood

Connie Fay Blackwood, 72, of Moulton, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2025 at NHC of Moulton. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Tuesday, June 03, 2025 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM at the funeral home with Bro. Dan Deitz and Bro. Brandon Keel officiating. Burial will be at Fergason Cemetery.

Born on March 31, 1953 to the late Tifford and Lillian Sutton Blackwood, Connie attended Hatton High School and received her high school diploma from American School. She was a member of the Church of God in Moulton where she served as Sunday School Teacher, Children's Church Teacher and Gleaner Band Leader.

Connie was always faithful to her church family, and loved them dearly. She also loved her family dearly and assisted in the care and raising of her special niece, Lisa Alexander, of whom she loved with all her heart. Connie was a gentle, kind and loving person who lived a life of faith, finding strength in the Lord and joy in the presence of those she loved. She gave her heart fully to her family, faith, church and friends.

She leaves behind a legacy of love that cannot be measured. Though we mourn her passing, we take comfort in knowing that Connie is now in the presence of her Lord. We will miss her sweet smile, her nurturing heart, and the love she gave so freely, but we will carry her memory with us always.

Survivors include her brother, Larry (Deborah) Blackwood; and special niece Lisa (Billy "BG") Alexander.

Pallbearers will be Tim Seal, Mitchell Chance, Josh Anders, Frankie Graves, Dustin Graves, Nate Carr, and Rickey Sutton.

The family extends special thanks to the Church of God, Moulton for their faithfullness, love and support; the nurses and staff at NHC and Hospice of the Valley; and her many family and friends for their loving care and support.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Church of God, Moulton and to Hospice of the Valley.
