Dannie Curtis

Dannie Michael Curtis, 73, of Arley, Alabama passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Princeton Baptist Medical Center Birmingham, AL. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Monday, May 22, 2023 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM at the funeral home with Johnny Freeman officiating. Burial will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Danville, AL.

Born on September 19, 1949 to Robert and Virginia Miller Curtis, Dannie was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He will be remembered as someone willing to help anyone in their time of need.

Survivors include his longtime friend and partner, Adene Shaw; son, Chad (Kellie) Curtis; daughter, Jennifer (Jody) Knight; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Jewell (Jerry) Waits; brother, Charles (Betty) Curtis; sisters-in-law, Sarah Curtis, Kathy Curtis, and Sherron Miller; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Dannie is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kenneth Curtis, Bobby Curtis, Dennis Curtis, and Frankie Curtis.

Pallbearers will be Chad Curtis, Taylor Curtis, Greg Hodges, Kenneth Lind, Felix Braden, and Matt Howse.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
