Graveside services for David Franklin Roberson "Dave", 70, will be Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 11 am at Moulton Memory Gardens with Rev. Wannell Scott officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing. Dave passed away on August 6, 2023 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. Born on August 27, 1952, the second son of Frank and Mary Roberson who preceded him in death, Dave is survived by James H. Roberson "Jim" his brother, Izulina Roberson, Jim's wife; James Franklin Roberson II, his nephew, Brandi Baker, his nephew's wife, his grand nephew, James Baker Roberson, and grand niece, Grace Baker Roberson, numerous Roberson and Kendrick cousins, and his dearest friends, Roger and Sandy Bolton and their daughters Alexi and Cristina.
Dave was a musician for much of his life. He graduated from the University of Alabama having performed in various ensembles including the "Million Dollar Band" and the University Jazz Band.
Later in life he became a music (band, jazz, and rock) arranger, completing arrangements for many university, high school, and jazz ensembles throughout the United States. Many of his arrangements have been featured on national television.
He very much enjoyed being a member of the Time Machine, a rock/pop band based out of Huntsville for several years. He also performed with national artists including the Temptations, the Four Tops, and the O Jays.
He was a conscientious and loyal employee of Parsons of Huntsville. He was well liked by and enjoyed interacting with his co-workers. He had a keen and witty sense of humor which endeared him to all who knew him.
