Derrek Martin

Derrek Wendell "38" Martin, 38, of Town Creek, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023. A graveside service will be at 12:00 PM, Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Midway Memorial Gardens with Pastor Tony Collins officiating. Lawrence Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

A member of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship and an avid Alabama fan, Derrek loved to deer hunt, fish, and play sports.  As a youth, he played baseball for several years in the youth league.  

Survivors include his parents, John Martin and Betty Hitt Martin; brother, Jonathan Martin; nephew, Wiley Martin; and grandmother, Shelby Johnson.

Derrek was preceded in death by his grandmother, Shirley Peacock; grandfathers, Windell Hitt and Cleo Martin.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Martin, Wiley Martin, Lance Bradford, Zach Parker, Chris Martin, and Eric Berryman. Honorary pallbearer is Allen Johnson.
