Dorothy Hodge Heidt, 76, of Moulton, passed away Monday, February 16, 2026 at her home surrounded by family. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Bro. Lynn Terry officiating. Burial will be at Moulton Memory Gardens.
Born on August 15, 1949 to the late Jessie and Leona LouAllen Hodge, Dorothy was a member of Liberty Community Church where she loved hearing Bro. Lynn preach and sing. She attended Lawrence County High School and went on to work there for 32 years. She was the Cheer Coach for many years and to this day she is remembered as Coach Heidt or "Mama D". Dorothy's greatest passion was her family, especially her grandchildren. In all of their activities, their "MeMe" was their number one fan.
Survivors include her daughters, Lisa (Shannon) Livingston, Toni (Miles) Hooper, and Tiffany (Nathan) Weathersby; grandchildren, Auston Livingston, Lexi Heidt, Alex Livingston, Tyson Hooper, and Jake Weathersby; sister-in-law, Patricia Hodge; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charlie Hodge, Vernon Hodge, and Harold Hodge; and sister, Deborah Coan.
Pallbearers will be Shannon Livingston, Miles Hooper, Nathan Weathersby, Auston Livingston, Tyson Hooper, Jake Weathersby, and Heath Hodge.
The family extends special thanks to Hospice of the Valley and family friend Bretinie Alvis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
