Colin Rutherford

Douglas "Colin" Rutherford, 39, of Town Creek, Alabama passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Lawrence Funeral Home with Ben Phillips and Chris Miller officiating.

Born on June 9, 1986, to Charles "Tony" and Teresa "Teri" Collins Rutherford, Colin was a graduate of Mount Hope School Class of 2004. He worked at Jay Industries for fourteen years. Colin enjoyed hunting of any kind and grilling what he hunted. Above all he loved just being outdoors with his dogs, and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his daughter, Hallie Kate Rutherford; parents, Tony and Teri Rutherford; grandmother, Carolyn Collins; Grandparents, Charles and Sue Rutherford; sister, Laura (Aaron) Jones; brother, Jay (Emily) Rutherford; nieces, Kennedy Rutherford, Adley Jones, and Georgia Rutherford; nephews, Charles and Jack Jones; his dogs, Rosie and Roamy; and extended family members.

Colin was preceded in death by his grandfather, Thomas Merle Collins; his maternal and paternal great- grandparents; aunt, Susan Collins; and his dog, Remi.

Pallbearers will be Sam Burleson, Brian Carr, Tim Smith, Jake Rutherford, Rodger Peebles, Lucas Spears, Derrick Rutherford, and Tim Pierce.

Honorary Pallbearers are Cotton Flannigan, Eric Cameron, Jerry Purser, Dustin Phillips, and Alan Gist.

The family extends special thanks to the First Responders from the city and county affiliations.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Colin's Memory.
