Frances Hopkins Porter, 87, of Mount Hope passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at NHC, Moulton. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Hickory Grove Cemetery with Larry Davis officiating. Because of the COVID-19 restrictions, anyone who attends the service is asked to remain in their vehicles to prevent too many people gathering at the tent.
A member of Owens Chapel Baptist Church, Frances worked at Walmart for approximately ten years. She loved her flowers and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Danny Porter; son, Jimmy Hopkins (Becky); grandchildren, Heath Hopkins (Laura), and Stacy Bain; great-grandchildren, Andrew Hopkins, Kaylee Bain, Gracie Hopkins, Savannah Hopkins, Sawyer Bain; stepson, Johnny Porter (Paula); step-grandchildren, Scott Porter (Tammy), and Ashley Crowden (Grant); step-great grandchildren, Cayden Porter, Easton Porter, Cooper Crowden, and Camden Crowden; sister, Doris Koon (Buck); several nieces, nephews and other family.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Donald Ray Hopkins; siblings, Howard Flowers, Mary Alice Andrews, Jimmy Rakestraw; and stepson, Tommy Porter.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family extends special thanks to the nurses and staff at NHC in Moulton and Westminster Assisted Living in Decatur, and Comfort Care Hospice, especially Allison Davis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gideon’s International Bible Ministry.
