Gene Wayne Stewart

Gene Wayne Stewart, 89, of Town Creek, Alabama passed away Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Mitchell Hollingsworth Nursing and Rehab in Florence, AL. The graveside service will be at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Fergason Cemetery with Scott Livingston officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Born on May 7, 1937, to Harley and Ruby Loosier Stewart. Gene enjoyed riding horses, taking care of his dogs, and working. He loved his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his son, Mike (Amy) Stewart; grandchildren, Amanda Stewart, William (Dina) Stewart, Walter, and Daniel; great-grandchildren, Nevan Stewart, Evie Stewart, and Evelyn Stewart; sister, Wanda Daniel; brother, Hollis Stewart; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Stewart; parents, Harley and Ruby Stewart; daughter, Cathy Stewart; sister, Faye Stewart; and brother, Orville Stewart.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
