Granville "Lee" Cagle, 87, of Athens, Alabama passed away Saturday, May 9, 2026, at his residence. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:30 PM on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Davis officiating. Burial will be at Owen Chapel Cemetery.
Born on November 8, 1938, to Jim and Annie Moore Cagle. Lee retired from Amoco Chemical in Decatur. He enjoyed watching all sports, reading his newspapers, and keeping up with the stock market. Lee was also a talented wood-worker. Above all Lee loved his family, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his children, Cyndi (Gary) Smith, Sandra (Rickie) McKie, Peggy (Randy) Cook, and Mike Tribble; son-in-law, Shawn (Jecelle) Padgett; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Lee was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Dorothy Cagle; his wife of 32 years, Lerissa Cagle; parents, Jim and Annie Cagle; son, Rickey Tribble; daughters, Kandi Padgett and Beth Bates; grandchild, Hannah Smith; brothers, Raymond and Cecil Cagle; and his daughter, Kim Baucom, who unexpectedly passed away one day after him.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
Honorary Pallbearers are Freddy Hood, David Hood, Gary Cagle, Steven Cagle, Jim Blankenship, Derrick Blankenship, and Ronnie White.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Owen Chapel Baptist Church, or a charity of your choice.
