Gwyndolyn "Gwen" Jane Shipley, 87, of Moulton, Alabama passed away Monday, May 8, 2023, at Lawrence Medical Center in Moulton, AL. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Lawrence Funeral Home with Mark Alexander and Greg Compton officiating. Burial will be at Moulton Memory Gardens in Moulton, AL.

Born on November 3, 1935, to Jim D. and Bertie Perry Jenkins, Gwen loved to write, do arts and crafts, and garden. One of Gwen's favorite pass times was to hunt for rocks and paint them with what her imagination envisioned. Gwen was truly loved by her family and will be missed greatly.

Survivors include her; daughter, Angela Kelsoe Hill; grandchildren, Hunter Kelsoe (Jessie), Forrest Kelsoe (Chase), and Jeremy Brooks; great-grandchildren, Randi Kelsoe, Avery Rea Kelsoe, Kellan Ruth Kelsoe, Sebastian Brooks, Cheyanne Brooks, and Seth Brooks; sisters, Melba McWhorter (Tim), Bertha Sue Alexander, and Rachel Wix; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Gwendolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Jim D. and Bertie Jenkins; husband, Donald Shipley; one son, Ronnie Brooks; three brothers, Jimmy Joe Jenkins, Jerry Jenkins, and Gary Jenkins; and one sister, Daphine Aldridge.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family extends special thanks to the Dr's and Staff of Lawrence Medical Center, Dr. Tucker, Greg's Ambulance Service, and for Dr. Nick Gillespie's care and compassion over the years.
