Harold Wayne Richard, 85, of Moulton, Alabama passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at North Alabama Medical Center Florence, AL. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Lawrence Funeral Home with Larry Crumpton officiating. Burial will be at Moulton Memory Gardens.

Born on January 13, 1941, to Woodrow and Alta Bradford Richard. Harold was a hardworking and devoted man who took great pride in his family, his work, and his faith. For more than 12 years, he was the proud owner and operator of Richard Alignment and Brake Service, where he built a reputation for hard work, dedication, and serving his community. Harold was a member of Old Liberty Congregational Christian Church, where his faith was an important part of his life.

He also made history as a father. Harold was awarded custody of his 3 children at a time when it was uncommon for fathers to receive full custody, and he is remembered as the first man in the state of Tennessee to be awarded full custody of his children.

Harold will be remembered for his strength, determination, hard work, faith, and, most importantly, his love for his family. His life touched many, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Sarah Clayton Richard; daughter, Sylina (Tim) Sandlin; grandchildren, Madison (Wesley) Vest, Holly (Payton) Blankenship; bonus granddaughter, Emily Sandlin; brother, Sammy (Carol) Richard; other children, Gerald Richard, Harold David Richard, and Kimberly Pickard; several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Alta Richard; son, Mark Richard; brothers, Junior and Charles Richard; sisters, Audrey "Tootsie" Collins and Doris Patterson.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Vest, Payton Blankenship, John Cannon, Clay Taylor, Barry Richardson, and Wayne Richard.

The family extends special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at North Alabama Medical Center.
