Harry Houston Miller, 92, of Priceville, passed away Monday, October 27, 2025 in Huntsville, surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 01, 2025 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Bro. Hollis Retherford officiating. Burial will be at Providence Cemetery in Town Creek.
Born on May 27, 1933 to the late Archie and Eleanor Milam Miller, Harry graduated from Northfork High School in Northfork WV and went on to join the Marines in 1953, where he served honorably during the Korean War. After service to his country, he and his wife Hallie relocated from San Diego to Angola Indiana where he attended Tri-State College and earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Upon graduation, Harry accepted a position with Chrysler in Huntsville AL where he worked alongside Wernher von Braun on the Apollo Saturn V Rocket Program at Redstone Arsenal. He also had the opportunity at Chrysler to participate in the aerodynamic and electrical design of the 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona "high tail spoiler", where he spent a great deal of time with NASCAR "good ole boys" Richard Petty, Cale Yarborough, the Allison Brothers and a young Rusty Wallace. He then went on to spend decades supporting various NASA Programs and received awards for the ATLAS 3 Mission, the MSL-1 Mission and most notably designing the electrical panels for the NASA Middeck Glovebox Integrated Microgravity Isolation Technology Program. Harry was very active in his church in Town Creek and then in Priceville until the time of his passing.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Margaret Kerby Miller; his daughters from his marriage to Hallie, Brenda (Darryl) Wagner, Vickie (Barry) Pruitt, and Julie (Karen) Miller; step-children, Sheila (Joe) Kasulka, Jeff (Wendy) Harris; grandchildren, Cory Wagner, and Britney Wagner; step-grandchildren, Breanna (Eric) Ow, William Kasulka, and Ashlyn Harris; brother, Archie McCoy (Brenda) Miller; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Hallie Miller; and sister, Veniella Perry.
Pallbearers will be Todd Miller, Joe Kasulka, William Kasulka, Jeremy Sherwood & Sonny Johnson.
The family extends special thanks to family friend Shea Bailey, and the nursing staff of Hospice of the Valley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley or a favorite charity.
