James Harris

James David “Crockette” Harris, 55, of Hillsboro passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Lawrence Medical Center. Visitation will be from 6 till 9 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 12 noon on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the funeral home with Greg Standridge officiating. Burial will be in Penny Cemetery.

A member of the Baptist faith, Crockette was preceded in death by his parents, Bynum and Ester Harris; sister, D.J. Harris; and nephew, Doug Hill.

Survivors include his wife, Vicky Hensley; daughter, Allyson Mitchell; stepson, Chris Hensley; three grandchildren; brothers, Larry Harris (Linda) and Keith “Rufus” Harris; sisters, Brenda Hagood (Waylen), Kay Hill (Gary), Diane Harris, Linda White (Barry), Kitty Harris (Jackie), Penny “Lou” Wilburn, Aline Norwood (Chris), Mindy Harris (David), and Dimples Osborn (Dustin); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends!

Pallbearers will be Hunter Harris, Jacob Harris, Gabe Waldrep, Bryan Harris, Dale Hill, Sam Waldrep, Scotty Weeks, Jarred Wilburn, and Jonathan Hagood. Honorary pallbearers are Noah Clay Hill, Flip Wilson, Mark Reed, David Hallman, Anthony Alred, Rook Hill, Bennie Standridge, Chris Norwood, and Jerry Haynes.
