James Daniel "BooBoo" Helms, 57, of Courtland, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025 at his home. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Thursday, August 07, 2025 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 6:00 PM at the funeral home with Bro. Jarrod Helms officiating.

Born on November 8, 1967 to Kenneth and Betty Borden Helms, BooBoo enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing and was an avid Alabama fan - Roll Tide! Along with his brothers, they continued the family tradition of building homes.

Survivors include his children, Danielle Bradford, Amberly (Cody) Voss, Sierra (Jacob) Hutto; grandchildren, Devin Stricklin, Mason Bradford, Josie Bradford, Bentley Hutto, Lilly Hutto, and Rylee Hutto; mother, Betty Cox; sisters, Renita (Rory) Harville, and Tamba (Don) Smith; brothers, Keith (Beth) Helms, and Randall (Sheila) Helms; companion, Angie Garrett; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

James was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Helms; sister, Charlotte Helms; and step-father, Carl Cox.
