Janice Hoefler

Janice Gail Hoefler, 74, of Moulton, Alabama passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Decatur Morgan Hospital.

Born on February 4, 1950, to Eugene and Leona Saylor Smith, Janice was a mother to all who knew her, never met a stranger, and spent her lifetime caring for others. She was well known to her friends, family, and community as "Granny".

Survivors include her daughter, Jenna Freeman (Bobby); grandchildren, Anthony Freeman (Destiny) and Catherine Freeman; great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Sowder; one brother, Arnold Smith; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Leona Smith; life partner, Angela Lynch Lewis; brother, Bill Smith; and nephew, Brian Gilbert.

The family extends special thanks to Nurses and Staff of the ICU At Decatur Morgan Hospital and family and friends for their prayers and support.
