Janice Porter

Janice Elaine Porter, 68, of Mount Hope passed away Monday, January 22, 2024 at her home. A graveside service will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Mount Hope Methodist Cemetery with Charles Williams officiating.

Born on December 4, 1955 to the late Willard and Delores Harbin Gaston, Janice worked in the lunchroom at Mount Hope School for 24 years.

Survivors include her husband of 28 years ,Lynn Porter; sons, Rodney Hill, and Cassey Hill; grandchildren, Jordan Hill, Brylin Sutton, and Bailey Webster; brother, Randy Gaston; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents; and grandson, Kagen Sutton.

The family extends special thanks to the nurses and staff of Hospice of North Alabama for their wonderful care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Old Town Creek Baptist Church Sunday School Department.
