Jimmie Lee King

Jimmie Lee King, 87, of Town Creek, Alabama passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 12:00 PM on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Lawrence Funeral Home with Larry Crumpton officiating. Burial will be at Old Liberty Cemetery.

Born on July 20, 1939, to Benard and Bertie Canups King. Jimmie was an Army Veteran. He retired from Reynolds Alloys Aluminum. Jimmie enjoyed hunting, fishing, mowing, bush hogging, and could build anything out of cedar. Above all he loved spending time with his family, children, and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mattie Faye King; daughters, Sandra (Michael) Barnes and Sonia (Nick) Heflin; children-in-love, Doug Rhodes, Constance Hutto, Stephanie Allen, and Ashley Cartee; grandchildren, Desten (Montana) Lovelady, Kayla Lovelady, Shiann Jones, and Wyatt Jones; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Benard and Bertie King; brothers, Wallace King, Willard King, Larry King, JB King, and JR King; sisters, Mae Ellen Cox and Dorothy Rhodes; grandson, Colbie Jones.

Pallbearers will be Doug Rhodes, Elijah Rhodes, Steve White, Greg Terry, Brian King, and Prentis Davis.

Honorary Pallbearers are James Luna, Michael Barnes Sr., Michael Barnes Jr., Nick Heflin, Desten Lovelady, and Morgan Frith.
