Sue Rutherford

Jimmie Sue Rutherford, 86, of Town Creek, passed away Monday, December 29, 2025 at NHC of Moulton with her husband of 67 years, Charles holding her hand. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Ben Phillips and Chris Miller officiating. Burial will be at Moulton Memory Gardens.

Born on November 8, 1939 to the late Ottis and Lucy Parker, Sue was a member of Hatton Church of Christ. She loved to travel and was a great cook. Sue will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband Charles Rutherford; children, Tony (Teri) Rutherford, Terri (Barry) Norton, and Brian (Vera) Rutherford; grandchildren, Jay (Emily) Rutherford, Laura (Aaron) Jones, Abby Rutherford, Jake (Morgan) Rutherford, great-grandchildren, Kennedy Rutherford, Hallie Rutherford, Adley Jones, Georgia Rutherford, Charles Jones, Cooper Rutherford, and Jack Jones; sisters, Nita Massey, and Jane (Larry) Smith; brother, Ray (Mary Faye) Parker; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Colin Rutherford; and brother, Charles Parker.

Pallbearers will be Jay Rutherford, Jake Rutherford, Barry Norton, Aaron Jones, Mike Parker, and Jeff Riddle.

The family extends special thanks to her nurses and the staff at NHC of Moulton as well as Hospice of the Valley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Hatton Church of Christ Building Fund.
