John Jolly

November 27, 1950 — August 4, 2020

John William Jolly, age 69, of Murfreesboro Tennessee went into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on August 4, 2020. John was born in Blountsville, Alabama to James Chester and Margaret Willodene Bynon Jolly on November 27, 1950.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sherry Dawson Jolly of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; son Ryan (Heather) Jolly of Moulton, Alabama; daughter Jessica Jolly of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; and his three granddaughters Madilyn, Lily, and Ellie Jolly. He is also survived by his brother James Chester (Anne) Jolly and nephews Chris, Alan (Sandra) and Scott Jolly. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Dee Cosper.

John was a faithful disciple of the Lord throughout his life. He served on many church committees and was a lay clergy pastor. His goal in life was to share the love of the Lord with anyone he crossed paths with. He and his family are members of World Outreach Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. John served our country in the US army as a captain. In his spare time he enjoyed reading and listening to worship music. John was an avid golfer and spent many weekends golfing with his son and daughter. He valued time with his children and strived to show them what unconditional love looked like.

John was married to Sherry Dawson Jolly in 1976 and remained in faithful, loyal, loving relationship with her until his death. John often referred to his children as his greatest accomplishment and his family as the pride and joy of his life. He cherished his role as “PopPop” to his granddaughters Madilyn, Lily, and Ellie.
