Joseph "Joey" Bean Sr., 64, of Russellville, Alabama passed away Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Russellville Hospital. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Wednesday, April 08, 2026, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Darryl Whitehead officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Methodist Cemetery.
Born on July 3, 1961, to Sammie and Opal Whitfield Bean. Joey loved his job at Spruell Farms where he devoted the last 38 years of his life. If he wasn't working, he loved to be at the racetrack or ball fields loving and spoiling his grandchildren and all of their friends. He also thoroughly enjoyed his naps. Above all he loved his family, especially his kids and grandkids.
Survivors include his children, Rose (Larry) Saulnier, Angie (Scott) Smith, Opal Copeland, Kevin (Stephanie) Bean, Robert (Tina) Poston, and Delanea (Andy) Hallman; grandchildren, Gabby Molina, Junior Molina, Anthony Saulnier, Ashley Smith, Christopher Smith, Tyler Smith, William (Hailey) Copeland, Corey (Haley) Copeland, Karson Bean, Masie Bean, Sarah Poston, Joseph Poston, Braylin Hallman, and Jase Hallman; great-grandchildren, Dakota Copeland, Neveah Copeland, Remi Copeland, Cooper Copeland, Daxton Copeland, Gabriel Smith, and Lainey Copeland arriving in July; sister, Sheila (Carl) Chaney; brothers, Kenneth (Liz) Bryant and Sammy (Tina) Bean; sister-in-law, Cathy Bryant and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Joey was preceded in death by his wife, Katrina Bean; parents, Sammie and Opal Bean; son Joey Bean Jr.; and brother, Jerry Bryant.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Spruell, Chase Wilson, Boone Pace, Tim Bryant, Sammy Bean, and Andrew Welborn.
Honorary Pallbearers are William Copeland, Karson Bean, Braylin Hallman, Jase Hallman, and Keith Fike.
The family extends special thanks to Jeremy and Latasha Hall, East Franklin Fire Department, and the doctors, nurses, and staff at Russellville Hospital Emergency Department.
