Larry Smith

Larry Gene Smith, 68, of Hillsboro passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. A graveside service will be at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Midway Memorial Garden with Bro. Clyde Smith officiating.

Born on November 3, 1954 to Freeman and Nelda Joyce Miller Smith, Larry loved taking care of his dogs, and listening to Elvis and Alabama. He will always be remembered for helping anyone he could by providing rides wherever they needed to go.

Survivors include his son, Eric Smith; father, Freeman Smith; brothers, Ronald Smith, James Smith, Gary Smith, Jerry Smith, Tim Smith, and Andy Smith; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Larry is preceded in death by his son, Aaron Smith; mother, Nelda Joyce Smith; and sister, Pamela James.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family extends special thanks to Larry's ICU nurses at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
