Leon Hill
July 21, 1940 — January 9, 2018
H. Leon Hill, 77, of Trinity passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. Visitation will be from 12 till 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Jonathan Procter officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.
Born on July 21, 1940 to the late Homer Lee and Gertrude Hill, Leon was a veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, meeting with his breakfast buddies and taking care of his animals.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Smith Hill; children, Ricky (Nancy) Smith, Rhonda (Curtis) West, Tammy (Mark) Shelton, and Beverly (Tony) Montgomery; grandchildren, Josh Shelton, Hailey (Tyler) Patterson, Miranda (Brandon) Nappier, Kasey West, Sydney Shelton, Kayla (Adam) Campbell, and Chassidy (Ryan) Edney; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Bowling, Myrle Conner, Mabel Castelien, Bernice Stafford and Patsy Prater; brother, Ray Hill; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
