Lillian Smotherman

Lillian Arnette Steele Smotherman, 94 years old of Madison, Alabama, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Regency Nursing Home.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 2:00 - 3:00 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home with the funeral immediately following at 3:00 PM in Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Smotherman had a Master's Degree in Christian Education and was a retired School Teacher with Birmingham City Schools and attended Moulton First United Methodist Church while she lived in Moulton.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Ernest Hermon Smotherman and her parents: James R. Steele and Lillian Long Steele.
Mrs. Smotherman is survived by her daughter: Susan Hoop and her husband, Thomas Hoop of Madison and three granddaughters: Anna Hoop Fleming and her husband, William Fleming Jr. of Huntsville, Catherine Hoop of Tuscaloosa and Sarah Hoop of Florence.
