L.O. Roberson Jr., 88, of Mount Hope, Alabama passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at his residence. The Graveside service will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Rock Springs Cemetery with Rev. Scott Hagood officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Born on May 3, 1934 to Leonard Roberson Sr. and Ira Watson Roberson , L.O. graduated from Mount Hope High School. He later attended Auburn University, War Eagle! Mr. Roberson was a member of Rock Spings Presbyterian Church where he attended as a deacon. L.O. farmed his entire life from dairy farming, hearding cattle, and raising catfish. He was a past member of the Lawrence County Cattleman’s Association. L.O. was an avid deer hunter who spent the seasons in Georgia hunting with friends and family. After retirement L.O. would spend his time doing his favorite things, from mowing grass, driving his golf cart, or cutting hay with his son Phillip. L.O. also liked to listen to Blue Grass and Gospel Music.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years Carol Sue Elkins Roberson; one son, Phillip Roberson (Lanette) of Mt. Hope; two grandchildren, Tye Roberson of Mt. Hope, and Anna Roberson Hopkins (Chase) of Mt. Hope; three great-grandchildren, Zayde Roberson, Cash Hopkins, and Ayla Kay Hopkins; four nieces, Lori Ann Wilson, Lisa Kay Alexander, Mary Ann Godwin, and Meleah Mitchell; and five nephews, Scott Hagood, Lynn Hagood, Roland Pace, Richard Pace, and Ashley Alexander; and several members of extended family and friends.

L.O. was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Roberson Sr and Ira Watson Roberson; son, Joseph Lee Roberson; one brother, Bill Roberson; two sisters, Mary Alice Hagood, and Genevie Warhurst; ; and two nephews, Sammy Alexander, and Tommy Roberson.

Pallbearers will be Tye Roberson, Chase Hopkins, Richard Pace, Roland Pace, Jimmy Cook, Andy Elkins, Lynn Hagood, Ashley Alexander.

The family extends special thanks to Hospice of North Alabama and his nurse Greta Boutwell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rock Springs Church Cemetery Fund.
