Margie Ann Parker, 76, of Leighton, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, December 02, 2024 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Truman Sutton officiating. Burial will be at Higgins Cemetery in Athens.
Born on May 25, 1948 to Frank and Margie Brooks Murphy, Margie loved fishing, coloring, word search books and playing cards - where she never cheated but always won.
Survivors include her children, Brenda (Stacy) Scott, Glenda (Ronnie) Nix, and Patricia (Greg) Terry; step-son, Henry (Cejina) Parker; grandchildren, Matthew (Hillary) Horton, Alicia (Andy) Agee, Kristi Adams, Stacy Simbeck, Brooke (Tyler) Brown, and Morgan Butler; 12 great-grandchildren; great-great grandson, Bentley Ledlow; sister, Patricia Sanders; brothers, Jack (Shirley) Murphy, Robert Murphy, and James Murphy; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Margie was preceded in death by her husband, James Loveral Parker; father, Frank Murphy; mother, Margie Thomas; step-father, Russell Thomas; and brother, Frank C. Murphy.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Horton, Justin Murphy, Murf Murphree, Rodney Pullen, Skylar Pullen, and Bryant Pullen.
The family extends special thanks to Alabama Hospice of the Shoals; Donna Hendrix, for her love and support; and to Heather Patterson, for all the hard work, love and dedication that she gave during this time. They also want to especially thank Kristi, Bryson, Gail, Kinsley, Kali, Cheyanne, and Mackenzie.
