Mary Ellen Franks

Mary Ellen Franks, 87, of Town Creek passed away Monday, October 3, 2022 at North Alabama Medical Center. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 05, 2022 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Bro. Scotty Letson officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.

Born on March 12, 1935 to the late Sydney and Minnie Johnson Ellis, Mary enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her grand and great-grandkids.

Survivors include her children, Travis Franks, Larry Franks (Berta), Donald Franks (Bessie), Mark Franks (Bradley) and Barbara Lester; grandchildren, Brandon, Michael, Alicia, Brittany; great-grandchildren, MacKenzie, Walker, Alexia, Kinsley, Noah, Rylan, and Myria; sister, Virginia Satterfield; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Mary Ellen is preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Shelia Franks; great granddaughter, Bela Terry.

Pallbearers will be Bessie Franks, Berta Franks, Brittany Grisham, Alicia Melson, Kristi Adams, Amber Smith, Kristen Franks, and Mackenzie Franks. Honorary pallbearers are Cejina Parker, Valerie Moyers, and Ruby Nail.

The family extends special thanks to Mary's doctors, nurses and the staff at North Alabama Medical Center, especially her nurse Erica.
