Melvin “Jack” Willis, 85, of Town Creek passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021 at his residence. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 23, 2021 with visitation from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Valley Grove Baptist Church, Tuscumbia, Alabama with Bro. Greg Beasley and Bro. Ted Vafeas officiating. Burial will be in Hardshell Cemetery.
Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and devoted friend. He graduated from Hatton High School in 1954. Jack gave his life to Christ at the age of thirty five and served as a Deacon, Lay Minister, Sunday School Teacher, and Ministered to the Nursing Homes. He and his late wife, Joyce, were faithful servants and Church Members. Jack served with the Lawrence County National Guard. He was a volunteer with Helping Hands in Hatton. Jack worked at Reynolds Metals for over forty years. He enjoyed his land and his farm.
Survivors include his daughter; Paula Graham (Greg) of Sylvania, Alabama, two grandchildren; Ashley Cambron (Jake) and Logan Graham, three brothers; Johnnie Willis (Deborah), Joe Willis (Betty) and Jim Willis (Bonnie) and his sister-n-law; Beth Willis.
He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty three years; Joyce Willis, his parents; Dyle and Melba Willis, and his brother; Jerry Willis.
Pallbearers will be Paul Willis, Johnnie Willis, Jim Willis, Joe Willis, Logan Graham, Jake Cambron and Roger Renfroe. Honorary pallbearers will be his Sunday School Class at Valley Grove Baptist Church.
