Olean Melson Owens, 91, of Danville passed away Sunday, November 1, 2020, at her home. Her graveside service will be at 12 noon on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Aldridge Grove Cemetery with Kenneth Johnson and Richard Sport officiating.
A longtime member of Aldridge Grove Church of Christ, Mrs. Owens graduated from Speake High School. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and working at the Jesse Owens Museum.
Survivors include her children, Diane Cameron, Judy Stewart (Cliff), Russell Owens, Donna DiMilia (Antonio), and Barry Owens; grandchildren, Amy Alred (Jared), Kimi Walker (Lee), (Chad Beauchamp, husband of Casey), Clint Cameron (Melanie), Kellie Frazier (Wesley), Trace Stewart (Casey), Sydney Davis (Zach), and Mark DiMilia; great-grandchildren, Luke Cameron, Ashley Owens, Wes and Jenna Walker, Cameron and Callie Beauchamp, Sydney Lewis, Olivia and Lexie Frazier, Brady and Annaliese Stewart; three great-great grandchildren; brother, Billy Melson (Ann); sisters-in-law, Sara Melson and Ann Melson Underwood; too many dearly loved cousins, nieces, and nephews in the Melson and Owens families, and neighbors to name. Always loving and kind to mother whom she loved dearly, Julie Johnson and Demetra McDaniel.
Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her parents, William and Iva Melson; sisters, Nadine Yeager and Betty Nance; brothers, Calvin, Gilbert, Dee and RV Melson; son-in-love, Tommy Cameron; and granddaughter, Casey Beauchamp.
Pallbearers will be Clint Cameron, Cameron Beauchamp, Mark DiMilia, Luke Cameron, Jared Alred, and Wesley Frazier.
The family extends special thanks to Southern Care New Beacon and the Lawrence County Nutrition Center.
