Opal Voncille "Von" Holland, 85, of Moulton, AL passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2025 surrounded by her family. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Lawrence Funeral Home with Marshall Turner officiating. Burial will be at Moulton Memory Gardens.
Von was born on March 18, 1940 to James and Minnie Melson Gillespie. Von loved the Lord and enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to sing and cook, especially chocolate cake. She enjoyed spending her time doing word search puzzles, including even making her own. Von had a deep passion for collecting Indian treasures for her Indian room. Von had a servants heart with unconditional love for everyone. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, and a dear friend to all who knew her. She was a member of Fairhaven Church of Christ in Moulton, and she has spent her whole life looking forward to meeting Jesus.
Survivors include her children, Beth (Sean) Boyd, Barry (Sarah) Holland, and Steve Holland; grandchildren, Melissa (Tory) Ricks, Crystal (David) Woodruff, Blake Holland, Brandt (Kaitlyn) Holland, Ryan (McKayla) Johnson, Taylor (Vance) Courtney, Austin Boyd, Baylee Boyd; great-grandchildren, Gabriella Woodruff, Zane Woodruff, Ellie Woodruff, Bodie Ricks, Flint Ricks, Josie Ricks, Gunner Courtney, Madelyn Courtney, Grayson Holland, Hank Holland, Kane Johnson, Baby Courtney; sisters, Brenda (Wayne) Turner, Gwen Ooten; brothers, Mike (Jan) Gillespie, Anthony Gillespie; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family. Von was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Leon Holland; father, Paul Gillespie; mother, Minnie Gillespie; sister, Lola Letson; sister, Juanita Ledbetter; brother, Gene Gillespie; sister, Abilene Jones; sister, Oreatha Bryant; sister, Pauline Smith.
Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jeremy Proctor & Austin Boyd.
