Opaline Nolen

Opaline Hand Nolen, 90 years old of Mt. Hope, went home to be with the Lord at her daughter's residence, Sunday, January 28, 2018.  Visitation will be Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home, the funeral service will be Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel with Chad Beck Officiating.  Burial will be in Rutherford Cemetery.

Mrs. Nolen was a member of North Highland Baptist Church in Littleville and worked as a seamstress in the sewing industry.

Opaline was preceded in death by her husband: Otis Clay Nolen, her parents: Thomas Hand and Stella Phillips Hand,  four sons:  Jackie Nolen, Jimmy Nolen, Timmy Nolen and Jeffrey Nolen, two brothers: Jack Hand and Moses Hand and two sisters: Betty Stoker and Barbra Kilgo.

Mrs. Nolen is survived by five children: Shirley Abbott (Ardell), Donna Smith (Dwight), Donnie Nolen (Karen), Annette Robinson (Frank) and Jerome Nolen (Traci),  Seventeen grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, three sisters: Lucy Randolph (Rayburn), Shelby Griffin and Christine Bradley and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be: Clay Nolen, James Abbott, Caleb Robinson, Brandon Hallman, Quentin Nolen and Riley Nolen. The honorary pallbearers are Max Nolen and Chance Beck.
