Porter Dutton

Porter Dutton, 96, of Moulton passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018 at his son’s home. Visitation will be from 12 till 3 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Larry Crumpton and Fred Green officiating. Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens.

A member of Elam Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Porter attended church faithfully until he could no longer physically attend. He was known for playing his fiddle with Glorybound Bluegrass.

Survivors include his sons, Porter O. Dutton, Jr. (Donna) and David A. Dutton (Angie); daughter, Sharon Dutton Craig; eight grandchildren, Eric Keith Craig (Melanie), Leandra Brinkley (Bill), Amy Jo Dutton, Justin Dutton (Heather), Jennifer Dutton, Susan (Kevin), Jessica Dutton Parkman (Lee) and Joshua Dutton (Nikki); 11 great grandchildren, Benjamin Lee Craig, Jackson Ketih Craig, Emily Jane Craig, Alexander Murphy, Cheynne Ferris, Shelby Ferris, Alaina Dutton, Shelby Parkman, Natalie Speegle, Porter Tripp Dutton and Rose Dutton; one great-great grandson, J.J. Ferris; brother, Benjamin Franklin “Mutt” Dutton, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Porter was preceded in death by his wife, Ida May Dutton; parents, Benjamin and Chessie Dutton; brothers, Clyde, Claude, Tom, Clifford, Glen, Ralph and Frank Dutton; and sister, Ruby Parker.

Pallbearers will be Justin Dutton, Joshua Dutton, Lee Parkman, Benjamin Craig, Jackson Craig, Eric Craig, Alex Murphy, and Porter Tripp Dutton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elam Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
