Quinnie Smith
August 4, 1919 — September 12, 2017
Quinnie Elkins Smith, 98, of Mount Hope passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at her home. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Mt. Hope Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Jonathan Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Methodist Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home assisting the family.
A member of Mount Hope Baptist Church, Quinnie was preceded in death by her husband, John Marshall Smith; infant daughter, Deborah Ann Smith; brother, Emmett Ashburn Elkins; and sister Dean Elkins Cook.
Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Sue Smith of Decatur; nieces and nephews, Doris Pace (Gene), Carol Sue Roberson (L.O.), Jimmy Cook (Dorothy), and William B. Smith (Rosemary); and a host of great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Chandler Kimbrough, Richard Pace, Phillip Roberson, Proncey Robertson, Bengy Sneed, Freddy Webb, Isaac Webb, and Taylor Webb.
