Ruby Joann Cobble, 70, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 28, 2023, in Ocala, Florida.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, located at 11450 AL Highway 33, Moulton Alabama with Bro. Lynn Terry officiating. Following the memorial, a reception will be held at the Pleasant Grove Family Life Center fellowship center. Following the reception, a stone monument will be dedicated to the memory of the life of both Joann and Larry Cobble at Midway Memorial Gardens, in Lawrence County Alabama, located at 3740 Co Rd 434, Moulton Alabama 35650.
Mrs. Joann Cobble was born in Moulton, Alabama on March 9, 1953, where she resided until graduation in May 1971 from Lawrence County High School. In June 1971, she married Larry Cobble. They moved from Alabama to Columbus, Mississippi in 1978, where she enjoyed being a loving wife and mother, and friend to many. Along with her husband, Joann owned Accessory Corner, an accessory/jewelry store that underwent eight different expansions from 1985 until 2015, with locations in Leigh Mall (Columbus, MS) the Meridian Mall (Meridian, MS), and Madison, AL. She frequently provided personalized gifts and products that included engraving, monogramming, ear piercing, etching, and jewelry crafting, until retiring in 2016. Joann moved to Ocala, Florida to be closer to her son and grandchildren in 2021. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed bowling competitions almost as much as her two little dogs, Oreo and Smores.
Joann was a woman of strong Christian faith, a member of Life Church (in Mississippi) and attended Living Waters (in Ocala, FL) until her health prevented it. She loved her church family.
Joann was preceded in death by her parents, Cleo Treadway and Lois Fuller Treadway, and her husband, Larry Cobble. She is survived by her children Brian (and wife Samantha) Cobble and Alisha Cobble Bryden; (and husband Josh), grandchildren Levi and Wesley Cobble; sister Sherlene Treadway Coffey (and husband Gary); and sister-in-law Brenda Cobble Phillips.
