Ruby Faye Sparks, 86, of Mount Hope, passed away Friday, December 29, 2023 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 03, 2024 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Wayne Dotson and Pastor Anthony "Pinky" Tyler officiating. Burial will be at Morris Chapel Cemetery.
Born on February 18, 1937 to the late James and Katie Jacobs Daniel, Faye worked for Goodyear for 27 years and was a member of Lebanon Church of God, joining Open Arms Ministry a few months ago.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years Dwight Sparks; daughters, Glenda Cross, and Sandra (Michael) Alexander; grandchildren, Tina (Jack) Smith, Heath (Tammy) Johnson, Joe (Candace) Johnson, Eric (Aarica) Cross, Cody Johnson, and Stephanie Pearson; 20 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Katheryn (Tim) Pepper, Linda (Donald Ray) Bradford, Betty Bogie, Ussery Brannon and Janet (Bob) Warren; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James Daniel, and Carter Daniel; sister, Nell Daniel and an infant sister.
Pallbearers will be Steve Black, Darrel Black, Cody Johnson, Joe Johnson, Eric Cross, and Brennon Johnson.
The family extends special thanks to the nurses and staff at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
