Vernell Luallen Spigle Wilson

Vernell Luallen Spigle Wilson, 90, of Moulton, Alabama passed away Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Summerford Nursing Home. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Lawrence Funeral Home with Larry Crumpton officiating. Burial will be at Jones Chapel Cemetery.

Born on April 28, 1936, to Ellis Floyd and Mary Estell Luallen. Vernell enjoyed listening to gospel music, gardening, cooking, spending time with her friends and family, and going on cruises.

Survivors include her children, Yon (Shelia) Spigle and Barbera (Bill) Everett; step-children, Donnie (Ann) Wilson, Gwin (Dottie) Wilson, Charlotte (Raburn) Gillespie, and Sherry (David) Heaps; grandchildren, Nicholas (Crystal) Spigle, LeeAnna (Clifton) Garrett, Sarah Beth Everett; great grand-daughter, Evelyn Rose Garrett; sister, Vernice Luallen Parker; special friends, Loretta Rutherford, who took her to singing and the storm shelter, Shirley Henderson, who would give her rides to church, and her great neighbors, Bobbie Alexander, Marie Millwood, Alethia Burgess and her daughters, who would all take care of her when she lived in her apartment. From her Wilson family she has several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson, Riggins Howell Terry.

Vernell was preceded in death by her husbands, John Rena Spigle and Layton Wilson; parents, Ellis and Estell Luallen; sister, Vernalou Montgomery; step-son, Greg Wilson; and step-grandson, Brandon Wilson.

Pallbearers will be Tony Montgomery, Tim Montgomery, Tad Montgomery, Chase Wilson, Nicholas Spigle, and Carson Simpson.
