Wendell Proctor Sr.

Wendell Proctor Sr., 83, of Hillsboro, Alabama passed away Friday, May 22, 2026, at his residence. Burial will be at Caddo Cemetery.

Born on September 1, 1942, to Ira and Willie Welborn Proctor. Wendell was a simple man who enjoyed the outdoors, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. If you ever met Wendell, you would never forget him. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Survivors include his children, Connie (Mike) Hammond, Kendell (Amy) Proctor, Wendell Proctor Jr.; grandchildren, Gwendellyn (Rusty) Dutton, Michael (Kierra) Hammond, Tiffany (Chris) Nix, Travis Proctor, Stephanie Proctor, Zachary Maples, and Dallas Proctor; great-grandchildren, Xander Dutton, Vincent Dutton, Nessa Hammond, Ameya Hammond, Serina Hammond, Michael Aiden Hammond, Valerie Osborn, Taylor Nix, CJ Nix, and Karter Massey; sisters, Wanda Purser, Gerldean (JM) Bruton, and Teresa (Gary) Oliver; brothers, Johnny (Liz) Proctor, Donald Proctor, Dwayne (Pam) Proctor, and Frank Proctor; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Wendell was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Proctor; parents, Ira and Willie Proctor; brother, Orbin Lee Proctor; and granddaughter, Serenity Hammond.
