Willis Ray Huckeba, 93, of Town Creek, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Helen Keller Hospital. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 PM at the funeral home with Darrell Brewer officiating. Burial will be at Fergason Cemetery.
Born on December 30, 1930 to the late Grady and Evie Thompson Huckeba, Willis loved fishing and spending time with his family. He served in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War and then went on to retire from Champion Paper Mill after 25 years of service.
Survivors include his children, Jacquelyn (Anthony) Archer, Greg (Sheila) Huckeba, and Lori (Darrell) Brewer; grandchildren, Eric (Karen) Huckeba, Megan Berryman, Morgan Whisenant, Chad (Jessica) Archer, Chelsie Archer, Cody (Misty) Pierce, Zach (Amber) Brewer, and Dustin (Kala) Brewer; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Tommy (Debra) Huckeba; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family including his fur baby, Pedro.
Willis was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Huckeba; parents; grandson, Cory Harris; grandson-in-law, Brian Whisenant.
Pallbearers will be Eric Huckeba, Chad Archer, Cody Pierce, Zach Brewer, Dustin Brewer, and Joel Berryman. Honorary pallbearers are Jatayze Johnson, Easton Brewer, Kayden Brewer, and Carson Whitten.
The family extends special thanks to the nurses and staff at Helen Keller Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
