Charlie Cowan

April 9, 1947 — February 25, 2021

Charles Edward Cowan, 73, of Moulton passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. A Celebration of Life service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 6 at Open Arms Ministry, 335 County Road 240, Moulton, AL 35650 with Bro. Wayne Dotson and Bro. Chris Godbee officiating. Lawrence Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Born on April 9, 1947 to the late Willie and Martha Pearl Cowan, Charlie loved his family and was a hard worker. He enjoyed being around his cows, milking, and farming. Never meeting a stranger, Charlie had many friends and will be remembered as a prankster.

Survivors include his wife of 46.75 years, Carolyn Cowan; children, Melissa Pratt, Crystal Thornton (Trent), and Edward Cowan (Leslie); grandchildren, Trevor Lee (Katie), Kassie Lee, Abbie Lee, Megan Parker (James), Makayla Morgan, Maddox Morgan, and Kaylee Cowan; sisters, Kathy Mitchell, Mary Beth McConnell, and Betty Kirby; brothers, RC Caldwell and Lynn Cowan; five nephews, and one niece.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tommy Cowan; and sister, Fannie Mitchell.

The family extends special thanks to Dr. Gillespie, Dr. Lobo, Dr. Schmidt; and all of the staff at Decatur Morgan Hospital and Hospice of the Valley for their love and care.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lawrence Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
