IV Hallmark, 95, of Russellville, Alabama departed this life February 18, 2021 in her granddaughter’s home in Elburn, IL surrounded by her son and his family. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Gargis Cemetery in Russellville.
She was born on October 13, 1925 in Lawrence County to John William Briley and Dovie Lowe Jacobs Briley. She is survived by her son, Gerald Parker; daughter-in-law Charlotte Parker and Christine Parker; grandchildren Cheri (Todd) Gilson, Paige (Parker) Chrisman, Alexandra Parker, and Brandon Parker; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence Odell Hallmark, one son Gary O’neil Parker, one sister Flossie Briley Quinn, half sisters Lucy McCreless, Maudie McCreless Holland, Gladys McCreless Crowden, Pauline McCreless Dawson, Ora Bell Briley Moland, Pearly Briley Doss, Bertie Briley Copeland, and Berchie Briley Grissom; half-brothers Johnny McCreless, Hubert McCreless, Eugene Briley, Woody Briley, Lonnie Briley, and Kelmer Briley.
IV attended Beavers Cross and Whiteoak community schools and worked as a seamstress at factories in Moulton and Tuscumbia (GC Lingerie). She served in her community at Hatton Senior Citizens.
IV loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She believed and accepted Jesus’ death for her sin at a young age and is now enjoying eternal life in His presence. She fellowshipped with other believers at Cotton Town Baptist Church, Zion Hill Church, and Old Bethel Baptist Church. IV was known for her sharp mind and quick wit. She loved to spend time with family and friends, host Rook card playing parties, and attend gospel singings and revivals.
