James Alton Cleveland, 81, of Moulton passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at his home. Visitation will be from 12 till 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 14 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Larry Lang officiating. Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens.
Born on February 14, 1940 to the late Lance and Rosie Landers Cleveland, Sr., Alton was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Moulton and he loved camping.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Faye N. Glover Cleveland; daughters, Joyce Montgomery (Wesley), Leisa Hood, and Sonya Gillespie (Greg); grandchildren, Paul Kirksey (Jamie), Tommy Behm, Leslie Faust (Mitch), Nicole Montgomery Lloyd (Andrew), Cyndel Robinson (Anthony), Lisa Marie Johnson, Katie Steele (Justin), and Courtney Gillespie; great grandchildren, Hagen Kirksey, AJ Kirksey, Bayden Wood, Ellie Faust, Connor Behm, Alayna Behm, McKinly Robinson, and Braxton Gillespie; and many nieces and nephews.
Alton was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Edward Cleveland, and Lance “Jr.” Cleveland; sisters, Audrey Washburn and Margie Warren.
Pallbearers will be Greg Gillespie, Wesley Montgomery, Katie Steele, Courtney Gillespie, Leslie Faust, Tommy Behm, Anthony Robinson, and Justin Steele. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mickey Cleveland, Wesley Cleveland, and Gene Washburn Jr.
