Matthew Benfield

Matthew Franklin “Moe” Benfield, 42, of Moulton passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022 at his home. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 10 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Born on September 24, 1979, Matthew enjoyed playing pool and video games and bar-be-ques. He also loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandson.

Survivors include his fiance, Heather Cowart; grandson, Rowen Hazen; mother, Betty Benfield; sister, Rachel Benfield; and nephew, Kaleb Hightower.

Matthew was preceded in death by his father, Ronnie Franklin Benfield; and grandparents, Frank and Margie Benfield, and Raymond and Hazel Drane.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lawrence Funeral Home to help cover funeral costs.
